On 21 May SAE in cooperation with CATUS organised a national meeting of experts in Belgrade to discuss workers' participation in management.
In the beginineg of the meeting, WIM3 Project Manager Maja Skorupan presented the importance of workers participation in management and the EU directive governing this matter. She also presented Slovenian legislation in the area of employee participation in management and some good practices of Slovenian companies.
A discussion has been developed among the participants of the meeting on the past regulation of labor participation / co-operation in Serbia. It was atgreed to review the “old”legislation and to suggest it as a new arrangement, taking into account appropriate corrections and proposals of the WIM3 project. In Serbia, the government plans to change labor legislation by 2020, so the participants agreed that the provisions governing workers participation in management could be included in the changes.
Most important results are the following:
- Ministry of Labor will consider delegating most qualified representative to participate in the Project activities.
- SAE will take the necessary steps to have the relevant EU Directives translated, so all the stakeholders would consider the same text in both English and Serbian language.
- the Labor Law that used to be in force during the 1970-is should be revisited, considering that some points related to workers’ involvement in management were taken into account within this “old” Law.
