WIM3 project partners first met on 27 March 2018 in Skopje to discuss main project activities and to exchange national practices on employee involvement in each participating country.
Project partners discussed in detail each workstream and its purpose. While workstream 1 is dedicated to promotion and awareness raising of EU law and policies on employee involvement in Serbia and Albania, workstream 2 is dedicated to experimental implementation in pilot companies of draft legislation on employee involvement in Macedonia and Montenegro. Partners from Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia discussed a draft questionnaire, prepared in the frame of workstream 3, to carry out survey among employers.
Serbian and Albanian partners stressed that they need companies’ good practice examples of implemented legislation on employee involvement in management, so the idea/project subject matter can be presented in a positive way and promoted among relevant national stakeholders. It was agreed to gather some examples and to present them at national meetings which are expected to be held in April and May.
Macedonian and Montenegrin partners are aware of the importance of employee representatives’ role in companies, not only due to the EU accession but also to improve satisfaction of employees and communication flow within a company. Therefore, they are willing to actively discuss solutions of transferring that part of the European legal order, which addresses the participation of employees, into the decision making processes.
Discussion on workstreams was followed by short presentations of legal framework on employee involvement in Slovenia, Croatia and Bulgaria.
