High representatives of the employers and industrial associations from Austria (IV), Hungary (MGYOSZ), Slovakia (RUZ), Czech republic (SP), Croatia (HUP) and Slovenia (ZDS) gathered in Portorož from 10 – 11 March 2016 for a meeting of CEE Federations Initiative.
After reports about current economic and political developments in each of the CEE countries, the participants debated on specific important topics:
- Migration crisis in Europe and the possible impact on CEE economies,
- EU Trade Policy – chances and risks,
- Future of EU Industrial Policy,
- Financial perspective 2016-2020 - possibilities for common work.
The participants discussed possible solutions for common problems and ways to influence the relevant institutions both at home and at European level.
At the conclusion of the meeting, members of the initiative visited Sečovlje Salina Natural Park and learned about the production process of salt in a natural environment.
